Red Wattle hogs are known for hardiness, foraging activity, and rapid growth rate. They produce a lean meat that has been described as flavorful and tender. The sows are excellent mothers, farrowing litters of 10 plus piglets, and provide good quantities of milk for their litters. They have a mild temperament/gentle nature.
Red Wattles adapt to a wide range of climates. They are active foragers which works well for pasture-based farms. They have a rapid growth rate.
Red Wattle pork is a very lean, juicy meat with a beef-like taste and texture.
